We built the synth school
we wished existed.

Most synthesis tutorials are either a 10-minute YouTube video that skips the why, or a 400-page manual that reads like a datasheet. MuugleSynth is neither. It's a curriculum built around doing — every concept has a live synth you can play with right in the lesson.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Sound first

Every concept is demonstrated with real audio. You hear the difference before you understand the theory.

Learn by doing

No passive video watching. Every lesson has an interactive synth module you can play with in the browser.

Community-driven

Lesson ideas, patch challenges, and new course topics come from the Discord community. You shape the curriculum.

THE STORY

From a bedroom studio to a curriculum

MuugleSynth started as a set of notes Alex kept for friends who kept asking "how do you make that bass sound?" The notes turned into interactive demos. The demos turned into a curriculum. The curriculum turned into this.

The name? A running joke from a late-night studio session that stuck. The mission is dead serious: make synthesis approachable for anyone who makes music, regardless of their background in music theory or electronics.

We're a small team. We care deeply about the quality of every lesson. We'd rather ship one great interactive module than ten mediocre ones.

THE TEAM

A

Alex Muugle

Founder & Lead Educator

Synthesizer obsessive for 15 years. Former touring musician turned educator. Built MuugleSynth because every other resource was either too shallow or too academic.

S

Sasha Venn

Curriculum & Sound Design

Sound designer with credits on film and game soundtracks. Writes the patch walkthroughs and designs the interactive lesson components.

K

Kai Oduya

Engineering

Web audio nerd. Built the real-time oscilloscope, the Web MIDI integration, and the entire interactive synth engine that powers every lesson.
